About
Born in Rome (1990), where he graduated in Philosophy (2017), his work explores contemporary social and political issues mostly in the form of long-term documentary projects. His practice combines photography, writing, and moving images to question how collective narratives are constructed, legitimized, and circulated, and to reflect on how visibility and invisibility shape our understanding of society.
His projects operate as open structures that allow multiple voices and temporalities to coexist, creating spaces for doubt, tension, and contradiction. A recurring concern in his work is the opacity of political constructs and the invisibilities that permeate social dynamics—areas where official discourse often silences complexity. Through a process that combines field research, archival inquiry, and experimental storytelling, he proposes counter-narratives that resist the naturalization of cultural processes, drawing attention instead to their contingent and constructed nature.
From 2018 to 2021, he studied on the MA Documentary Photography programme at the University of South Wales in Cardiff, where he deepened his interest in the intersections between critical theory and visual practice. In Three Different Ways of Saying ‘Here’ (2019–2021), he examines a makeshift community of migrants in Borgo Mezzanone, Italy, a former military airbase, through the lens of the “bare life” (Agamben) and Henri Lefebvre’s theorizations of space, interrogating the politics of visibility.
His first monograph, The Far Site (Chemistry Publishing, 2024), reflects his concern with how peripheral geographies can open up new ways of thinking about collective memory, displacement, and belonging.
